Will Apple Release iPad 3 in March 2012?
The iPad 3 release date was supposed to be arriving in March of next year. However, it’s now being reported by sources from the upstream supply chain that Apple is not planning to launch a major iPad upgrade any time too soon and it seems that the company is preparing an updated model of the iPad 2 for launch in early 2012.
Apple is known for releasing its various products throughout specific occasions of the year. While iPhones are known to launch within the summer time and iPods during the fall, iPads are usually known for their spring release dates. However, sources revealed that actually Apple does not view the new iPad product as iPad 3, but rather an upgraded iPad 2 and the real iPad 3 is not supposed to be launched as early as the third quarter of 2012.
The real iPad 3 won’t be launched until the third quarter of 2012, the same sources said. Obviously, this time schedule doesn’t seem to be in agreement with Apple’s modus operandi. Small volume shipments of the iPad 2S are said to begin in the fourth quarter of this year, due to the Lunar New Year holidays in China in January.
According to some resources the iPad 3 is rumored to have a quad-core processor. Though this has not been confirmed, some also recommend that the iPad 3 and the coming iPhone 5 will have up to date variations with the current A5 processor, currently utilized within the iPad 2. Reports also indicate that Apple and Samsung are at present operating together to produce an A6 quad-core processor.
It is rumored that the iPad 3 owners will have hands-free controls with which they will be able to interact with their iPad 3 device even from a short distance. The Apple patent also shows an advanced gesturing-based video editing toolbar that is said to allow users to film videos through hand signals.
So whether the iPad 3 release date is to be in March 2012 or in the third quarter of 2012 is yet to be seen.
