Apple Confirms October 4th iPhone Announcement; Invitations Sent
For once, all of the rumors have proven to be true.
After the mainstream media reported that the iPhone 5 announcement would come on October 4th at Apple’s own Cupertino, CA venue, all of that information has finally come true. According to TheLoop: “Apple on Tuesday officially announced its iPhone 5 launch event. According to the invitation received by The Loop, the event will be held on October 4 at Apple’s Cupertino, Calif. campus. The event will begin at 10:00 am PT.”
To think — the next iPhone is going to be officially announced in just a week.
The graphic that is popping up for the event is an interesting one: a calendar icon that says “Tuesday 4,” and an overall theme that hints at iOS. While other companies are maybe not very symbolic in their graphics, Apple certainly is, and the graphic hints at what many in the tech media have been predicting: that Apple will focus heavily on the software side of the iPhone 5 — namely, the enhancements that will come with iOS 5 and iCloud.
Finally, major kudos to AllThingsD, who claims to have broken the iPhone 5 announcement for October 4th as well as the news that it would be held in Cupertino. Their credibility has just skyrocketed when it comes to breaking serious news about the iPhone.
